Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior experience to join a first aid course?
No experience is required. Our trainers guide you through all skills and assessments step-by-step.
How long is my first aid certificate valid in Australia?
First aid units are typically current for 3 years. CPR (HLTAID009) is recommended to be refreshed every 12 months.
Will I receive a digital certificate?
Yes. A digital Statement of Attainment is issued after you successfully complete the course.
Do you offer private 1-on-1 or on-site sessions?
Yes. We can arrange private 1-on-1 training or on-site sessions for groups. Contact us for availability and pricing.
Do you offer on-site training for workplaces and groups?
Yes! Our Paramedics can come to you at no additional cost, with a minimum of 10 participants. Contact us to book your on-site session.
Why train with Paramedics?
Our courses are delivered by current on-road ambos with real-life experience. We invite you to read our reviews — clients consistently notice the difference. Participants leave confident and engaged, and we’re proud to share our team’s knowledge with the community.
Do you offer short and online courses?
Yes! We partner with Allens Training (RTO 90909) to deliver a blend of online learning and practical training. Many people are hands-on learners, so this approach gives the best of both worlds — complete theory online and then attend a practical session with our Paramedics.
I won’t be able to get on the floor on the day. Will that be an issue?
Rest assured, our Paramedics are here to help. Sometimes clients are recovering from injury or surgery — please reach out if you have concerns. The practical component must be performed in its entirety, so we want you to be ready.
For CPR and First Aid, floor-related tasks are required (e.g., 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR and the Recovery Position). These are legal and ethical requirements for certification. If you need more time to heal or a later date, contact us and we can reschedule at no cost until you’re ready. A good self-check is to practice on a pillow at home to gauge comfort.
While we can’t change the assessment requirements, we’ll always support you with timing and preparation so you can succeed.
How can Imperial support me with floor activities and skills?
Please contact us if you may require extra support. We also recommend:
- Testing yourself at home with a pillow for 2 minutes of CPR until you’re comfortable.
- Using a knee pad (we can bring one, or you can bring your own).
- Performing infant CPR on a table-top (allowed for comfort), while adult CPR must be done on the floor.
- Talking to our Paramedics in advance so we can prepare any reasonable aids.
I need to reschedule my booking
No problem — please reach out and we’ll move you to a session that suits you better at no cost.
